The Guardian article states the property needs to be rezoned, which is not quite accurate. The properties are zoned Comprehensive Development Area. Council just needs to approve new “permitted uses” for this CDA property. I expect that resolution to breeze through at the next council meeting. However, Planning Board decided to wait until the Trust is formed and a detailed plan is put together for the green space before approving any new permitted uses on that portion of the property, other than “open space”. Those uses can be approved when the green space plan is complete. Good luck!
